People are always dieting, and trying to lose weight. The only problem is, after the diet, 95-98{5b8e831512cf0c284f7edae7fc403e9a09e5b1736c5b1d60e4451a29dc064ebe} of people will gain back the weight, plus some additional pounds. It’s very discouraging, frustrating, and get’s people angry at their body. And the worse thing about it is, it is STRESSFUL. First of all, as soon as you go on a diet where you are restricting calories more than 20{5b8e831512cf0c284f7edae7fc403e9a09e5b1736c5b1d60e4451a29dc064ebe}, your body into “conservation mode” and slows down your metabolism. It’s nature’s way of protecting you from starving during times of low food availability. If you eat even less, your body is going to make you feel tired, and lacking motivation to move off the couch.

If you’ve been reading my posts for a while, you know that I keep repeating this message- dieting doesn’t work! And exercising to lose weight ALSO doesn’t work; because Mother Nature makes you feel hungrier when you work out more!

The interesting thing is: People CAN lose weight eating all different kinds of methods. I mean, just look at the titles of all the different kinds of diet and exercise books. THOUSANDS of them! And you’ll read testimonials about each one of them being the ONLY thing that has worked for the author of the book. You don’t hear from them a year, 2 – 5 years AFTER the diet. That might be interesting! And for most of them, you don’t find out whether they had liposuction (which STILL doesn’t insure you’ll keep off the weight!).

I’ve come to understand that the thing that takes someone from their lean frame, as nature intends you to be, is a combination factor of eating poor food choices and STRESS. The way that food is processed in your food is a decision that is made in your brain. And stress changes the way your hormones are activated, and how they react with each cell in your body. That’s why some people who are chronically stressed out will NOT lose weight no matter what they eat or don’t eat! (and even thin people can have belly fat, which is the place where fat is stored under stressful conditions) So, when you think about it, losing weight is all in your mind! If your mind is stressed out, you won’t lose weight!

I recently heard an interview with Dr. Christiane Northrup and Jon Gabriel. Both of them commented about their inability to lose weight on The Atkins Diet. Dr. Atkins ended up being frustrated with both of them, and accused them of cheating on the plan. But the truth is, they are NOT all that unusual. Dieting is effected by your stress level and no matter what you do, unless you relieve the stress, you will carry that weight.
