Serenity Prayer Roses

Many Gurus, including my favorite, Yoda, tell you essentially:

“Do or Do Not; There is No Try”

Well, I’m a great believer in the power of positive thinking and action, but sometimes there are cases where this just CAN’T work. I know, for many the word “can’t” is in the category of negative self-talk. However:

  • Human Men can’t have babies
  • People can’t fly like superman
  • You can’t live forever

I use an open mind, to determine if anything I’m told I “can’t” do, is true. I generally see it as a challenge, not a factual statement of what is possible.  I don’t use the mindset of “try”, because I assume in most cases, I can do it, and get into action. More often than not, I accomplish what I set out to do.

But if someone told me: “Just TRY HARDER, and you’ll be able to fly like superman“, I know this is not going to accomplish my goal”. And I won’t waste my time.

I’m a strong believer in Brain Science (I spend hours reading and studying) and The Law of Attraction. I believe they are essentially the same thing. And I also believe that “the things you resist, persist”. This makes perfect sense when your focus is on “stopping” something. That’s a negative focus of the Law Of Attraction; rather than moving TOWARDS the goal you want.  And you will be attracting the thing that you DON’T want when you focus this way!

I have found that “accepting what is” very often then removes the blocks to success. Buddhists call it “attachment”.  Sometimes it takes letting go of the “need for thing you want” for it to come to you naturally.

That’s part of the process of dieting to lose weight. Most people go on diets because they are unhappy. They are also unhappy with what has happened to their body, and want to change it. It’s a vicious cycle. The focus is negative, the original cause of the weight gain or weight problem (which in 80{5b8e831512cf0c284f7edae7fc403e9a09e5b1736c5b1d60e4451a29dc064ebe} of people is emotional) is ignored. Then more deprivation of food, over-exercise, and self-condemnation of their body makes the focus negative; unhappiness and stress is worsened. If a person is able to beat their body into submission and lose weight, but the original cause (stress or unhappiness) is not addressed, they will slowly regain the weight.

And, as the vicious cycle continues to turn, they will dislike their body even more, because additional pounds came with the original weight (the yo-yo effect). The stress and disgust builds, and yes, they go on another diet.

Doing something the same thing repeated and expecting different results is the definition of INSANITY a DIET.

That is why I have created a program for people who have been on every diet, but just can’t keep the weight off. It’s totally different, because it’s not focused on what you eat, but what’s eating you. It’s your unconscious thoughts, your known mindset, beliefs (much of dieting is based upon MYTH-information), and the stress in your life.

Using the latest brain research, and the Law of Attraction, the Mentabolism Mindset Transformation program releases the blocks that keep you in a negative holding pattern. And this same program will help you release negative mindset beliefs that hold you back in other areas of your life as well.

The program will be released next week, and I’ll be doing a webinar to explain how and why it has been so successful. Make sure to sign up, and get “the skinny”.

Remember; it’s not always trying Harder that will get you to achieve your goals. Beating your head against a wall because you’re angry you can’t get rid of a headache is NOT a solution!

I think the Serenity Prayer says it best.  You can say it with or with God, depending upon your beliefs:

God grant me the Serenity to accept

the things I cannot change,

the Courage to change the things I can, and

the Wisdom to know the difference.

Most of all, be your best friend, and always love, accept and forgive yourself. The rest will fall into place.
